Meet Me @ The Library
Becky Arenivar, the programming librarian at the Prescott Public Library, has come up with a terrific Power Point for introducing the library to groups of 8th graders called Meet Me @ The Library. It's a great look at all the fun stuff libraries provide, that many 8th-graders don't know about. You can check out the Power Point here, and the notes and handouts that go with it here. If you want to know more, contact Becky herself at arenivar @ ifls.lib.wi.us
More SLP Resources

If you have any students participating in your summer library program who have low vision or are blind, you might be interested to know that there are some resources available for them that are directly related to the Summer Library Program! The Collaborative Summer Library Program worked with the Wisconsin School for the Blind to make some of the pages of the manual accessible to kids who are blind. There are Braille puzzles and tractile graphic matching games and activity sheets. To see a sample, contact Leah (langby@ifls.lib.wi.us) and I'll send them your way. If you know you want to order some, go to Wisconsin Accessible Media Productions.
There is also a signing video available for librarians who are interested in incorporating sign into storytimes this summer (and beyond!). It is available to download when you log in to the CSLP Website. If you have trouble, let me know!
